We Care For You As We Would Our Own Family
After a patient appointment, all instruments are thoroughly cleansed in a Hydrim (similar to a highly efficient dishwasher). After this, we sterilize each instrument with a Statim Autoclave—including all handpieces. Our sterilizer is spore tested daily and each cycle is monitored to ensure that sterilization has been achieved. Any items unable to be sterilized are disposed of after each patient. We also work with Stericycle Canada to ensure that all biohazardous waste is properly disposed of. Barriers are used in the treatment rooms as much as possible to prevent cross contamination. As well, surfaces are disinfected with chemical solutions that insure the highest level of infection control and protection to the environment.
Clinical staff members wear gloves for the protection of both themselves and their patients. Gloves may be changed and disposed of several times during each dental procedure. Non-latex materials are available for use on patients with latex allergies. Clinical staff use protective eyewear to avoid injury and as a barrier to eye contaminants. Vision protection for patients is insured through SafetyVU sunglasses that prevent glare from overhead dental lights as well. The dentist, assistants, and hygienists wear masks as a safety measure for both the patient and the dental care provider.
